Volunteer Opportunities

Volunteers are the fuel that power our success and help move our mission forward. With every new volunteer, NABA grows more energized and better equipped to reach our common goals. Volunteers are critical to our motto: Lifting as We Climb.

NABA off
ers a variety of ways for our members to get involved at the National level:
  •  Short-term task-force projects
  •  Committee or Board service
  •  Writing for Spectrum Magazine
  •  Annual Convention support
NABA Chapters also have a variety of events and programs throughout the year where volunteers are needed. Below is a partial list of programs and initiatives that would not be possible without our volunteers.

Be a part of making these and other programs a success and contact your local NABA Chapter today to volunteer.

Accounting Career Awareness Program

This is a one-week summer residency program held at a local college or university for  high school students interested in a career in business. During the week, students have the opportunity to attend classes on careers in accounting and business, personal development and college preparation and tour college campuses, local companies, and CPA firms.

Accounting Finance Pipeline Initiative (AFPI)
The AFPI program is a two (2) and four (4) year high school program designed to provide inner-city youth with the opportunity to realize their full potential as future business leaders.  This program has increasingly challenging project levels designed to prepare at-risk inner city high school students for post-secondary education in the areas of accounting, business, and finance. The primary goal of AFPI is to provide student participants with those specific tools needed to prepare for a post-secondary education in finance and accounting. Those tools include an introduction to the world of investing.

NABA Cares (Day of Service)
Each year we join an organization located near our annual convention site to show our dedication to philanthropy and our appreciation to our host city.  NABA Cares is a national initiative that highlights the work of NABA members in the community. Community service and outreach is a key part of NABA’s motto “Lifting As We Climb”.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
This program offers free tax help to people who cannot afford professional assistance. Participating volunteers will prepare basic tax returns for low-income taxpayers, including the elderly, limited-English proficient and people with disabilities.
